The small team at our Pantry in South London have been super busy delivering food to our vulnerable clients who are self isolating. We are supporting over 650 people across 17 London boroughs.

The supermarket is not a safe option for many of our most vulnerable clients due to underlying health issues and severe financial constraints. The temporary Pantry has been created from our Brewbird Café  The food we deliver is high quality and sustaining. Families have also told us that they really value the fact that a friendly face has kept in contact with them throughout the lockdown.

Client helped by the Pantry

Your generous support has been a lifeline to these families in what have been desperate times. Many of them were already in challenging circumstances and experiencing severe poverty and poor physical health. They are at high risk from the Covid pandemic so the security of a regular supply of nutritious, healthy food has been a real source of comfort and security.

The team have also been providing the families with nutritional information, meal planning and recipe ideas.  They've sent us pictures of the results - with (clockwise from top left) rhubarb cake, pear tart, duck chow mein and pizza on the menu, we've been a little envious of their culinary talents at times!

Dishes created by the clients

We are extremely grateful to Sainsbury's who have generously provided us with a refrigerated van, meaning we have been able to meet a greater number of people who have needed help and also keep our running costs to a minimum.

"I would like to thank you for helping my young clients and their mother. The Pantry is helping this family by providing them with healthy, nutritious top ups and limiting their risk of exposure.  My client now has some peace of mind. Thank you."
