Expanding Our UK Reach

Expanding Our UK Reach

The Peer Hubs have gone from strength to strength over the past year.

All seven delivery locations, covering every UK nation, had Peer Advisors actively progressing towards qualifications and in volunteering roles.

Our work in Scotland and Northern Ireland has taken off at pace, with the first cohorts of Peer Advisors completing their Learning to Advise training in each nation by March, now moving on to full qualifications with our delivery partners, Glasgow CVS (Scotland, delivering SVQ L3 in Advice & Guidance) and Advice NI (Northern Ireland, delivering the Level 4 ‘Adviser NI’ qualification), while further cohorts of Peer Advisors come on board.

There has been a fantastic demand for the Peer Advisor Programme in these new regions for St Giles, and we are excited to have future cohorts of Peer Advisors on waiting lists, as well as a great reception from partner host organisations.

In Northern Ireland, positive relationships have been established with agencies including NIACRO, Community Advice Lisburn & Castlereagh, the Focus Project, the Turnaround Project, First Housing and Radius Housing.  In Scotland, we’re delighted to have agencies like SISCO, Resilience Learning Partnership, Scottish VRU, Made for More Community Network, Aid and Abet, and Street Soccer Scotland working with us.

Our national network of Peer hubs have been supported through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Reaching Communities programme.
