Employment boost for Cardiff

Employment boost for Cardiff

Our newly-established Working Out project in Cardiff is offering local people overcoming disadvantage the opportunity to train as our award-winning Peer Advisors. They also benefit from paid work placements whilst undergoing the Level 3 training to qualify as a Peer Advisor.

The people training as Peer Advisors through Working Out Cardiff have typically experienced and overcome issues such as homelessness, offending, mental health problems and addictions. Our Peer Advisor Programme’s tried and tested approach of offering a structured package of training and support helps them improve their skills and employment prospects. Given their disadvantaged backgrounds, most have experienced barriers in doing so previously.

Working Out also supports local organisations which benefit from trained, well-supported ex-service users who can offer highly credible support services.

A similar service in Ipswich has been successfully up and running since 2014. It has trained 50 people as Peer Advisors and helped 300 people with jobs.
