Flexibility

At St Giles, we offer our people flexibility in how they work and will offer flexible or hybrid working, where possible. Many of our staff work flexible working patterns, for example, to support their childcare or other caring responsibilities.

Annual Leave

At St Giles full-time staff receive a generous annual leave allowance of 30 days plus 8 bank holidays. In addition, you are entitled to 2 duvet days pro rata.

Family - Friendly Approach and other special leave allowances

  • We have Family-Friendly policies and procedures in place to support maternity, paternity, parental and adoption rights. This includes eligible staff to benefit from St Giles Occupational Maternity Scheme (offering extended maternity leave and enhanced maternity payments) and generous, flexible 4 weeks enhanced paternity pay.
  • St Giles Trust will deal sympathetically and sensitively with staff who have been bereaved and will look to grant compassionate leave, offering up to 10 days of discretionary paid compassionate leave.

Development

  • We have mandatory training programmes and a range of additional courses to enhance your development. These are offered in a variety of formats.
  • We offer you the opportunity to develop within your role and progress via several learning and development opportunities.
  • All staff and volunteers have the opportunity to be mentored by an external professional through our professional skills and mentoring programme.

Support for colleagues

We take employee wellbeing very seriously.

  • We have an independent Employee Assistance Programme through workplace options This is available for you and your loved ones to utilise and includes a 24-hour helpline. It is staffed by a team of highly trained and qualified professionals who are experts in fields such as: well-being, family matters, relationships, debt management, workplace issues, consumer rights and much more.
  • Access to qualified clinical therapists for Clinical Supervision.
  • 2 duvet days to support wellbeing, in addition to our annual leave allowance.
  • 24/7, 365 days remote GP and second medical opinion service for our staff and household members.
  • We continue to value the input and suggestions of our people and Employee Resource Groups to implement further wellbeing initiatives.

Employee Resource Groups

are generally organised on the basis of common identities, interests, or backgrounds. The goal is to support fellow staff by providing opportunities to network and feedback via their Leadership sponsor to create a more inclusive workplace.
