On Wednesday, 7th February, St Giles Yorkshire brought together over 30 strategic-level partners to discuss and work on processes for a more collaborative approach to supporting women and girls; regardless of their circumstance (past and present,) characteristics, life choices or post code.
The aim is to offer all women a safe space to drop in to and access gender-specific support from a multi-agency network of professionals.
Representatives present included: Office of the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, (OPFCC,) North Yorkshire Fire Service, North Yorkshire County Council, City of York Council, HMPSS, TEWV, Horizons, Changing Lives, Humankind, Health Watch and more.
St Giles, Whole System Approach Lead, Kelly Broadbent said:
“Wednesday’s event was incredible; the attendance was fantastic, and all representatives were really keen to take a more ‘joined up’ approach to supporting women with multiple unmet needs.
It speaks volumes about the passion and drive of multi-agency partners across York and North Yorkshire.
All participants wrote a personal ‘pledge’ committing to keeping the momentum of the work going between now and our next quarterly meeting. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone to see how they are getting on with their personal pledge!”
