Custody-based training

St Giles’ Peer Advisor Programme trains people in prison to become qualified advice and guidance professionals, empowering them to support others in prison.

What it is

Prison provides an opportunity for positive interventions to help prevent the likelihood of reoffending.

St Giles’ Peer Advisor Programme trains people in prison to become qualified advice and guidance professionals, empowering them to support others in prison. It builds skills, confidence, and employability while delivering trusted, relatable advice from those who truly understand.

It also builds employability which is one of the biggest protective factors against reoffending.

These Peer Advisors become powerful role models showing that change is possible and creating a positive ripple effect of hope and rehabilitation throughout the prison community.

In this animation we explain how we helped Mark train as a Peer Advisor
