Joseph’s optimistic he’ll be a stronger person at the other end of this adversity with support from us.

Joseph’s Story

Joseph is a newly qualified Peer Advisor from our Peer Circles project who has been receiving the Covid-19 Crisis Fund Support, as well as additional help with utilities and food to make sure he’s able to self-isolate. He had just started volunteering, usually around three times a week, he’d completed most of his coursework and was preparing to complete his job observations as part of his qualification just as the lockdown started. The question was what to do over that time.

During lockdown, we’ve been in constant touch with Joseph to check in and make sure he’s keeping himself busy and encouraging him to keep at positive activities. We found him self-care things to do, but feels unable to go on his favourite nature walks because of fears around his asthma and Covid-19. He also has very limited internet access.

Joseph says that having a reliable source of support is what he most values. He’s optimistic he’ll be a stronger person at the other end of this adversity with the support from us.
