After training through St Giles, Adrian became a skilled professional helping others – something he never dreamed of a few years back.

Adrian’s story

This story is part of the Peer Power series – a photographic collaboration between professional photographer Jeff Hubbard and Peer Advisors.  Earlier this year (2022) they worked together to portray their stories in photographic and written form.  Each one is unique but all highlight the true value of harnessing people’s lived experience of adversity to become a force for good.

Adrian’s story

I came into contact with St Giles through the Shaw Trust.  After speaking to Hannah (Coventry Peer Hub Co-ordinator) I haven’t looked back.  St Giles have continually supported me and helped me achieved my NVQ Level 3 Advice and Guidance qualification. Not only this – they have given me the strength and encouragement to talk about my past and I now have a much more positive outlook on my future. I have now started working as a full time Caseworker in A&E at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley and I am doing something I would never have imagined three years ago.  Thank you St Giles!
