St Giles is pleased to announce Tracey Burley as our new Chief Executive Officer. She will be joining us in the first financial quarter of 2023.
Tracey brings with her over 15 years of charity, not-for-profit and public sector leadership experience. She comes to St Giles from Redthread, where she is currently the Interim CEO. Prior to that, she was the COO of Stonewall (the largest LGBT rights charity in Europe), and the Managing Director of Cognus, an education services company in Sutton. She has also held many other roles including sitting on the Boards of several organisations including non-executive director of Careers England and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Career Development Institute.
Our outgoing CEO, Rob Owen, who has led St Giles for more than 15 years, has overseen significant growth, as we have moved from a small, London based charity to an established national charity, recognised as a leader in lived experience service design, delivery and positive impact. Rob’s commitment to ensuring those with lived experience has been at the heart of everything that we do at St Giles, across all levels of the organisation. This has driven the development of a unique and empowering model, transforming the way services are delivered both within St Giles and across the sector.
Duncan Gibson, chair of the St Giles Board of Trustees said:
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob for his outstanding contributions to St Giles for the past 15 years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. We are now looking to the future and are hugely excited about the next phase for St Giles under Tracey’s leadership. We are confident that with her experience and passion, Tracey will build on the past success of St Giles, enabling us to continue to deliver innovative and effective services that address the changing landscape and enormous challenges facing our clients. She is a proven leader and has successfully steered corporate direction and strategy; she is highly experienced in developing the culture needed for a thriving organisation. I am truly excited for the future of St Giles and what we can all achieve together”.
Tracey Burley, Incoming Chief Executive of St Giles, said:
“I’m excited to be joining such a dynamic and energetic charity at a time when their services have never been more needed. St Giles has proven itself to be a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of individuals and has lasting positive impacts on wider communities. Its commitment to harnessing lived experience, developing it and turning it into a positive force is what sets St Giles apart. I’m looking forward to taking St Giles to the next level and guiding the charity through the challenges all in our sector are currently facing.”
