St Giles Trust are pleased to announce NHS England has awarded the contract award for the provision of lived experience for the DASV programme to us. This follows the recently completed procurement process carried out by Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England. The contract for this critical provision will begin in October 2023 for a period of 24 months.
St Giles Trust, alongside our partner organisation AVA (Against Violence and Abuse), will provide a variety of experts by experience and facilitate the support and training of those experts participating in specific programme activities, including those from marginalised communities who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.
Nicky Park, Director of Criminal Justice and Women’s Services at St Giles Trust, said:
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with NHS England and AVA, helping people experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence access services shaped by people who really understand what they are going through as they themselves have been there. We are looking forward to building in existing successes and tailoring services to meet the diverse and complex issues which we will be working with, working on a national scale whilst identifying local needs.”
Working with experts from St Giles and AVA will shape and inform the DASV programme of work, support appropriate evidence-based choices, with the aim of fostering the best decisions and improving services.
