We want to keep everyone aware of a cyber security incident involving one of our service providers that may have affected some of the personal information we hold about our supporters.
Beacon CRM, the customer relationship management system we use to securely manage supporter information, recently informed us that it experienced a cyber security incident involving unauthorised access to parts of its systems.
At this stage, we understand that some supporter data held within Beacon may have been accessed. The information involved may include names, email addresses, telephone numbers and postal addresses where these have been provided. No passwords, bank account details or payment card information have ever been stored on Beacon, so we know this data has not been compromised.
We recognise that the most important question for many supporters will be whether their own information was affected. At present, Beacon cannot confirm with certainty which individual records were accessed. We appreciate that this uncertainty may be frustrating, and we are committed to sharing further information if it becomes available.
As soon as we were informed of the incident, we began working closely with Beacon to understand the impact and ensure appropriate action was taken. We have reviewed the information provided by Beacon, informed the relevant regulatory bodies where appropriate, and are monitoring the situation closely.
We recommend remaining vigilant for any unexpected emails, phone calls or messages that appear to be from organisations you know or trust.
We understand that receiving this news may be concerning and we are very sorry for any worry it may cause. Protecting the personal information of our supporters is extremely important to us, and we take our responsibilities seriously.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at dataissue@stgilestrust.org.uk or call 020 7708 8000 (option 6). If you call, a member of our team will be available to assist you.
Your support helps us make a difference to the people and communities we work alongside every day, and we are very grateful for your commitment.
