Girls and Young Women in Cheltenham Invited to Share Views on Safety and Public Spaces

Girls and young women in Cheltenham are being invited to take part in a new anonymous online survey designed to better understand their experiences of living in the town and to help shape safer, more inclusive public spaces.

The survey is a partnership between St Giles, Cheltenham Borough Council and the borough’s No Child Left Behind Board, and aims to ensure that the voices of girls and young women are central to local decision-making.

Participants are being asked about how safe they feel in different public spaces, the challenges they experience, and what changes would make Cheltenham a safer and more welcoming place for them. All responses are anonymous and will be used to inform future prevention, safeguarding and place-based improvements across the town.

The findings will help partners identify priorities for action, improve public spaces, and develop targeted interventions that respond directly to the lived experiences of girls and young women.

The survey is open to girls and young women living in Cheltenham and can be completed online in just a few minutes. By sharing their views, participants can play a vital role in shaping positive change and helping create a safer environment for everyone.
