Diversion from custody

We provide support for people involved in the justice system alongside those at risk of becoming so.

What it is

We provide support for people involved in the justice system alongside those at risk of becoming so. Much of this work is one-to-one mentoring with people who have been arrested or are serving community sentences.

Support in the community provides an opportunity to address underlying issues and prevent people from entering custody. Our work involves helping people access support for issues around criminal exploitation, mental health, homelessness, debt and employment support.

Diversionary work avoids additional consequences associated with custody including loss of accommodation, regular income and the effects on children when they lose a parent to prison.
