Addressing poverty in Wales
We deliver services across Wales focused on tackling poverty, strengthening communities, and improving skills and employability through lived-experience leadership.
In Colwyn Bay, Y Pantri, delivered in partnership with Adferiad, provides affordable, nutritious food alongside advice and practical support for people facing financial hardship and other challenges. Through a low-cost weekly membership, families can access fresh food in a welcoming, community-based setting that reduces social isolation and connects people to local services and support networks.
Through our Newport-based Boost Hub and Aspiring Champions Hub in Rhyl, we support people with lived experience of disadvantage to gain professional qualifications, build confidence, and improve employability. Working in partnership with local organisations, participants access volunteering opportunities that often progress into paid employment, supporting inclusive growth and long-term resilience.
Across our programmes, we share best practice on embedding lived experience, strengthening partnership working, and creating clear progression routes for people facing disadvantage. We are also exploring pathways into the green economy, supporting Welsh Government ambitions on sustainability while addressing skills gaps and opening up new employment opportunities for people furthest from the labour market.
