Skills and employment support for ex-offenders
Whether it is building basic skills or improving existing ones, we provide a range of courses to help people improve their prospects and broaden their horizons.
Our training is offered in a friendly, inclusive environment and is specifically aimed at peope who may lack the confidence to enrol at a mainstream college. All these projects are available at our head office in Camberwell, south London.

WORKING IT OUT
Our hugely popular Working It Out is our job brokerage and career advice service. It helps our clients search and apply for jobs, write cover letters and gain further training. We also advise on disclosure issues and benefit claims. It is open weekly on Wednesdays and Fridaysy, with morning and afternoon sessions.
Working It Out is available to any St Giles Trust client.
STEPPING UP
Stepping Up is run in partnership with Affinity Sutton housing association (ß weblink) delivering workshops to members of families in temporary accommodation to access training and employment opportunities through learning to set goals and thinking positively.

CHOICES
Choices helps young people aged 16 – 24 who face barriers to education and employment. Through one-to-one and group work sessions, Choices provides advice and support to stay motivated and help to find a work placement, training course, apprenticeship or job.
Choices workers will help you create a learning plan based on your individual needs and goals, and support you to stay in education or employment long term.
JOB DEAL
Delivered in conjunction with Serco, the two-year Job Deal project aims to overcome the barriers and issues faced by young fathers and adult male ex-offenders on their release.
The project operates both in prison and in the community, and with one-to-one support helps to get its beneficiaries back on track through education, training and employment.

IPNO - SUPPORT FOR EX-OFFENDERS IN SUFFOLK
This project provides accredited training and employment support for ex-offenders in Suffolk. IPNO (so-called because its main bases are in Ipswich) gives ex-offenders the opportunity to work towards a Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance, and gain vocational work experience in the process. They receive support from volunteers who have already successfully gained the qualification.
