We rely on the generosity of our fundraisers to keep doing what we do. There are so many ways in which you can support St Giles Trust and also have a fun time into the bargain.

If you are fleet of foot, there are many running events across the UK in which you can fundraise for St Giles Trust.  Click here to go to our runners page.

If you fancy doing something a little different such as mountain trekking or horse riding, try checking out the Charity Challenge website which can link you up with lots of different adrenaline pumping activities which enable you to raise money for St Giles Trust.

If a more leisurely form of fundraising appeals to you, they are loads of ways to raise money for us.  Barbeques, cake sales and fancy dress parties are all potential options for those of you with good hosting skills. Pub quizes go down well with those who are fonts of all knowledge and even sponsored charity ghost watches have been done by those with nerves of steel!

Why not save up on calories by having a Healthy Eating Club with your colleagues? Spend the first two weeks of January enjoying healthy snacks and greens for lunch and donating the amount you save on your normal lunch back to St Giles Trust?

You could also start ditching your old clutter by holding a Bring and Buy Sale at work? Bring along a bag of unwanted presents and unused, unloved clothing, electrical items or toys and let others enjoy your unwanted gifts.  All proceeds from slaes of items sold on the day could come to St Giles Trust.

Whatever you choose to do, St Giles Trust's fundraising team can support you with your fundraising. Click here for a Fundraising Pack. Here are a few outline tips:

Remember that small amounts can all add up to a big sum! Whatever you are doing, St Giles Trust can help you with sponsorship forms and information about our work to distribute.

Friends and family – they are often the first step to raising money and are great to get on board.

Gift aid – this can really make a difference to the amount you fundraise. Each time someone signs your sponsorship form, get them to put their home address with postcode and tick the Gift Aid box. This means the Government will give an extra 28% at no expense to the donor.

Fellow employees – advertise your challenge on your company’s intranet so your colleagues know. Why not try organising a departmental quiz or auction night to raise funds? By charging a small entrance fee, you can all have a great night out and raise money.

Company matching – ask your company to match whatever you raise. It doubles your achievement!

If you would like to try fundraising for any kind of event or activity online, Virgin Money Giving is the way to do it.  Visit the St Giles Trust page within the Virgin Money Giving site and follow the simple steps to create your own fundraising website, or if you prefer you can make a one-off or monthly donation to St Giles.
