We are extremely grateful to Jenny Agutter for her support in launching our Christmas Appeal.

Here is her message:

"This is a special time of year, bringing together family and friends.  It is a time for reflection and hope, but for some it is a desperate and lonely time. However, by giving a little we can make a big difference to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

Anyone who knows St Giles Trust as I do will know how they transform lives.   If someone has nowhere to live and no prospect of getting a job when they leave prison, they are in desperate circumstances.  The seemingly insurmountable problems leave few options open, which is why the statistics we have recently seen show so many prison leavers re-offending.  We all feel the consequences of this.

At St Giles Trust the aspiration is to always be there for those in need, but this is not possible without our help. Without help, Patricia would have been homeless, forced to fend for herself on the streets and most likely would have reoffended and ended up back in prison.

Please spread the word about and give what you can.

Wishing you joy through the festive season and good wishes for 2012.

Thank you so much for your kind support."

PS - Together, we can make a real difference to the lives of those in need in our community this Christmas.
