Our Call Centre based in HMP Send has now connected to another women’s prison.  Women serving sentences in HMP Eastwood Park in Gloucestershire will now benefit from over-the-phone advice and support from women serving sentences in HMP Send.

The Call Centre, funded by Charles Dunstone, went live in September 2010.  Women working at the Call Centre at HMP Send in Surrey provide an advice service to women in nearby HMP Downview and HMP Holloway through secure, free phone lines. Typically, this involves support around housing, employment, finances and signposting to other services.  Women working at the Call Centre train towards an NVQ 3 in Information, Advice and Guidance.  So far, 38 women in Send have qualified as trained advice workers and the centre has received hundreds of calls from fellow female prisoners.
