St Giles welcomes Prince William
Staff and clients at St Giles Trust gave Prince William a royal welcome on Friday 13 March as he visited their head office in Camberwell to find out more about their work.
The Prince met and spoke with ex-offenders who are now employed by the Trust, which helps offenders and disadvantaged people rebuild their lives. He spoke with staff who provide housing resettlement services to newly released prisoners and met staff and clients who use the training and employment support services offered by St Giles.
He also met with Junior Smart, who works with young offenders caught up in the negative cycle of gang crime.
Rob Owen, Chief Executive of St Giles Trust, said: “Everyone at St Giles is extremely honoured that he took the time to come and meet with us and hear first hand about what we do and the issues our clients face. We were really heartened at how engaged and interested he was. We hope his support will help inspire people to give ex-offenders a second chance.”
